So get ready to blast off in a rocket fuelled Starfield performance preview.Time for some birthday chilidogs! Today, in celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog’s 32nd birthday, SEGA hosted the third annual Sonic Central, a virtual fan-centric event, streamed on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube and Twitch channels. We also compare the improvements over the previous showing, enhancements within the engine, and much more. The biggest question after the show(s) was: why is it 30fps on Xbox Series X and Series S and not 60fps? In this IGN Performance preview, we dive into the details shared by the team, the revealed PC minimum and recommended specifications, and how the Creation Engine 2 works, comparing the previous games to gauge some of the potential reasons why the team might have chosen 30fps.

With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. Sonic's Birthday Bash update releases in Sonic Frontiers today at 8 p.m. The first update, which was released in March, allowed players to search for music from other Sonic titles, such as "Stardust Speedway" from Sonic CD and the Sonic Heroes theme song, and play them as they're, running around the islands, snap breathtaking pictures with Photo Mode, and play through two timed modes, Battle Rush and Cyber Space Challenge. Sonic's birthday update is the second in a string of updates coming to Sonic Frontiers throughout the year. New challenges will also be coming to the second update, like the new open zone challenge, which tasks you with running through the islands and beating enemies as fast as you possibly can.

Starfall Islands will also be filled with birthday party decorations, like balloons and birthday presents.

To keep the celebration going, the update will bring new collectible Koco, who are all wearing party hats, and accessories such as the sunglasses with the starry arch and wings on the side, which are inspired by the title logos from the early Sonic games.
